We love our pets – be they dogs, cats, birds, etc. – and many times we consider them as family members. The theme of animals is the dog and the question of whether dogs go to heaven or not.
Received attention when Pope Francis was misquoted when he said, “Paradise is open to all creatures of God.” However, these words about the pets were actually spoken by Pope Paul IV in previous years. The question remains, are all dog’s go heaven?
One of the most moving stories in the Bible is the parable of the prophet Nathan who told King David. He said: “A poor man only had a little lamb, which he had bought and raised, the little lamb had grown up with him and his children, he ate his own food and drank from his own cup and lay down in his breast; like a son to him. ” (1 Samuel 12: 3, NVRV). Because we love animals, the question often arises, “will our pets go to heaven?” However, the Bible does not say anything about this issue. This neither confirms nor denies it. However, here are some churches debates dog’s go heaven or not in the USA.
God created everything – even animals – for his pleasure and his Glory. The Bible says, “You are worthy, O Lord and our God, to receive Glory, honor, and power; for you have created all things, and by your will, they have been and were created. “(Revelation 4:11, NVRV). Human beings were created for the Glory of God.
“To each one who is called according to my name and whom I have created for my Glory, I formed him. Surely I did it. “(Isaiah 43: 7, NVRV). But the Bible also speaks of inanimate objects, such as the sun, the moon and the stars, that praised God (see Psalm 148: 3).
Of course, we know that these objects cannot praise God in the same way that humans can. Nevertheless, they praise God with their radiance. By playing the role that God planned for them, they glorify their Creator.
Although all of God’s creation is for his glory and pleasure, human beings were created in the image of God. The animals were made of the same dust as human beings and have the amplitude in life in them as we do, but God made man and woman in His image and entrusted them with the responsibility of supervising, protecting and enjoying the rest of their life. creation.
“Then God said:” Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and in all the earth, and over every animal that moves over the earth.
“I believe, God to man in his image; in the image of God I believe it; man and woman I believe them. God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth; subjugate her and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky and all the animals that move on the earth. “God also said:”
Behold, I have given you every plant that gives seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit bears seed; they will serve you as food. And every animal that moves on the earth, where there is life, every plant will serve as food. “And it was like that. (Genesis 1: 26-30, NVRV). So the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden, to keep it. “(Genesis 2:15, NVRV).
Because human beings can reason, we are able to make intelligent and moral decisions, animals can not. God did not create animals with the ability to choose good or evil, to accept or reject salvation. Only human beings were given the ability to reason.
Genesis 2: 8-9 (NVRV), “And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden in the east and put there the man whom he had formed. Jehovah God made spring from the earth all kinds of attractive trees in sight and good to eat; also in the middle of the garden, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. ”
God warned Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil — “for the day you eat of it, you will surely die.” Genesis 2:17, NVRV.) Only human beings have the ability to make moral decisions for or against God.
“Today I call witnesses against you to heaven and earth, from whom I have put life and death, blessing and curse before you. Choose, then, life to live, you and your descendants.
“(Deuteronomy 30:19, NVRV) Joshua 24:15 But if it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose you today whom you serve, whether to the gods that your fathers served when they were on the other side of the River, or to the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live, but I and my house we will serve Jehovah.
The plan of salvation has been designed for human beings, not for animals. Since animals can not reason and make moral decisions, they have not been included in the Salvation that God has offered to human beings.
Jesus died to “save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21, NVRV). “We are saved by faith in Him. John 3:16 (VRV) says,” For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost, but may have eternal life. “In order to be saved, one has to believe in Jesus. But animals can not exercise a saving faith in Jesus.
Will there be animals in heaven? Yes. God’s original creation has been subjected to degradation and decay because of sin, but it will be restored as it was in the beginning. The apostle Paul wrote: “For the creation has been subjected to vanity, not by its own will, but for the sake of him who subjected it, in hope that even the creation itself will be freed from the bondage of corruption, to enter to the glorious liberty of the children of God.
(Romans 8:20, NVRV). Although our sins have destroyed us and nature, God will restore both. Just as animals were in creation, so they will be part of the world and of life when He restores everything new – without the corruption of sin and death.
Isaiah 11: 6 Then the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the kid. The calf and the lion cub will grow together, and a small child will lead them. (This gives us to understand that we are going to have pets in the sky, is not it?)
Isaiah “11: 7-9 The cow and the bear will graze, and their young will lie down together. The lion will eat straw like the ox. A child of the breast will play on the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child will extend his hand over the viper’s hiding place. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb will graze together. The lion will eat straw like the ox, and the serpent will feed on dust. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, “says the Lord.
We should not insist that God ordains things according to our desires and understanding. Maybe God can allow our beloved pets to be with us in heaven. Or you can choose to create a new pet for you.
We must be willing to let God ordain things as He sees better – and trust that we will be happy in heaven. God says, “For behold, I create new heavens and new earth. There will be no more remembrance of the former things, neither will they come to thought any longer “(Isaiah 65:17, NVRV).
We may not know all the details of what God is preparing for us in heaven, but we do know that it will be far beyond anything we can imagine. It is in the Bible, ‘Things that eye did not see or hear, that have not arisen in the heart of man, are those which God has prepared for those who love him “(1 Corinthians 2: 9, NVRV).
The best advice is that we love our pets and enjoy them while they are with us – and trust God in all things for the future. God knows everything and sees everything, and nothing is too hard for him to do. God knows how much we love our pets and how much they mean to us. The Bible does not directly tell us if our pets will be with us in heaven, but we do know that God loves us and wants us to be happy. “He will not deprive those who walk in integrity of good things” (Psalm 84:11, NVRV). We can trust in God that heaven will be a place full of everything necessary for our happiness.
