Rainbow Ombre If You’re a Brunette

Rainbow Ombre Brunette

When it comes to dyeing hair with striking or multicolored tones, brunettes must first whiten the hair to make the color more vibrant. Today we present a trend to encourage you to change the look with rainbow tones. It is “rainbow ombré” and is ideal for women with dark brown hair.

@caitlinfordhair: ????????Rainbow Dahlia???????? – It’s not always about having the perfect, level 10 canvas. This #velvetvivids technique is perfect for darker hair palettes because the hair does not need to be lightened as drastically, which means healthier hair for your clients. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My model ( @dravendarling ) had existing red direct dye on her ends, her existing base level was a 5. It’s important to be able to anticipate your outcome when you lighten the hair by having a thorough consultation with your client. Also bear in mind that a color’s end result is a product of the formula you use COMBINED with the existing color of the hair. Remember to use the color wheel to your advantage ???????? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This look is part of a 2 part e-class series I did alongside @kristinacheeseman ! We are still in the process of editing the video but if you would like to be added to the notification list for this class please DM me your email address ⚡️⚡️⚡️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #behindthechair #modernsalon #americansalon #esteticausa #beautylaunchpad #allure #cosmo #cosmohair #teenvogue #picoftheday #hairoftheday #hellogiggles #festivalhair #coachella #coachellahair #rainbow #darkhair #vixen #rainbowombre #oilslickhair #pulpriot #pravana #imallaboutdahair #fiidnt #darkvivids

The technique to get the “rainbow ombré” is called “velvet vivids” and was created by Caitlin Ford, a colorist based in St. Louis.

“This technique #velvetvivids is perfect for darker palettes because it is not necessary to rinse hair so drastically, which means healthier hair,” explains Ford on his Instagram.

The technique is essentially the same as gently lightening the hair as you would with the reflections through a lower volume developer, explained Allure.

What is equally important to keep in mind is that Ford created an ombré effect leaving the roots intact. That means that the rainbow ombré is not only a healthier option for your hair but also low maintenance.
