Kentucky Style Fried Chicken

A delicious chicken that will not cost you much to cook.

Ingredients For 4 Peoples

1 kilo of chicken
1 liter of oil sunflower
1 liter of milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of curry
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
3 teaspoons of paprika sweet
1 teaspoon of paprika spicy
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of onion powder
1 teaspoon of tarragon
1 teaspoon of pepper to taste
1 teaspoon thyme
2 teaspoons of dill
1 teaspoon of salt to taste
2 cups of beers
200 grams of tempura flour

Kentucky Style Fried Chicken Recipe Step By Step

1. Prepare the chicken. Clean and remove all skins and chicken fat. Chop in chunks that are not too large, as this will fry faster. Season the chicken pieces and reserve.

2. Prepare the mixture to marinate the chicken. Put in a bowl 1 teaspoon of curry, 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, 2 teaspoons of sweet paprika, 1 teaspoon of hot paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon of tarragon, 1 teaspoon of pepper (to taste), 1 teaspoon of thyme, 1/2 teaspoon of dill, 1 teaspoon of salt (to taste), 2 cups of beer.

3. Mix very well, you have to have a creampie similar to that of custard. If the mixture is thick, add enough water and check that it is lighter and creamier.

4. Dip the chicken pieces in the mixture made previously. You can let it marinate for about 30 minutes, although it would be better to leave them an hour for the chicken pieces to integrate well with the ingredients.

5. Remove the chicken from the marinade cream when enough time has passed, drain the excess from the marinade.

6. Prepare two bowls. In one of the bowls put the liter of milk and the 2 eggs, beat it very well with some rods.

In the second bowl place 200 grams of tempura flour ( you can also use a mixture of wheat flour and cornstarch, in equal proportions), 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of spicy paprika, 1/2 teaspoon Curry, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon of Dill, 1/2 teaspoon of Garlic Powder, 1/2 teaspoon of thyme and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Batter the chicken. First, we will put it in the first bowl of eggs and milk and then in the bowl of the flour and spices mixture.

6. Heat the liter of sunflower oil very well in a pan or if preferred in a fryer. When it is very hot but without smoking, the chicken pieces are already battered and let fry. When it is golden, lower the heat and continue frying. They have to be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

7. When the chicken is golden we take it out and place it on a plate with paper towels to drain the excess oil. Present the chicken on a platter, accompanied by grilled corn and coleslaw.

Once the cream is made we submerge all the chicken pieces to marinate it. We will leave it for at least 30 minutes. It is best to leave it for an hour, so all the ingredients will end up integrating perfectly.

While we wait for the chicken to marinate, we make the batter mix. We prepare two bowls, in one we put the liter of milk and the 2 eggs, we beat it very well with the rods.

Then, we are putting them to fry in a pan with plenty of hot sunflower oil or in a fryer, as we like, although it is best in a pan since the batter may remain stuck to the fryer racks.

First, we will heat the oil at a high temperature and we will place the chicken pieces in it so that the cover seals well; then, we will lower the oil temperature so that it will be done more slowly inside.

When the chicken is golden and it looks crispy on the outside we take it out of the pan and place it first on a plate that we have previously placed a kitchen paper so that it absorbs the excess oil from frying it.
